Get Involved Home

We believe strongly in the importance of every disciple of Jesus being active in using their gifts and abilities to glorify God.  Here at SCOC, our G.R.A.C.E. statement helps us to practice this belief.  Each member is encouraged to take part in at least one of the following service opportunities:

GROWTH/DISCIPLESHIP MINISTRY:  Primary purpose is to develop Maturity through teaching.

RELATIONSHIPS MINISTRY:  Primary purpose is to develop Membership through strengthening interaction.

ABILITIES/SERVICE MINISTRY:  Primary purpose is to develop Ministry through encouraging use of spiritual gifts in service and involvement.

Evangelism

A grace-filled church understands that the Gospel is “good news”.  It must be proclaimed clearly and understandably in today’s language.  Communicating the Good News of Christ involves everyone who is a Christian and is shared best with those for whom we have genuine love and friendship.  It does not look at others with our human eyes, but with Gods eyes.  As ambassadors of the Kingdom of God, we are compelled to share with others the same grace which we have received from God.

How Do We Implement It?

Evangelism ministry team, meeting regularly to promote and organize ideas for community outreach and ways we can show the love of God to our world. Have budget set aside for: handouts, fliers to distribute, signs, invitations, post cards, business cards, web page, phone book ad, needs oriented classes & activities, etc. Introductory packets with tape.  Promote friendship  and small group evangelism

Looking To the Future

Evangelism is the ministry of what we believe.  We hope that our joy in the grace of God is always evident as we worship together, as we gather for fellowship during the week and as we live our lives in the world.  We know that we have discovered the most fulfilling life possible—eternal life that is lived in covenant with Jesus Christ.  We want many others to share in the life, so that they might live the joy we have.  The book of Acts depicts the amazing spread of the good news of Jesus throughout the Roman World.  We hope to continue this story as we join with other believers in lifting up Jesus Christ in the Inland Northwest & extending His grace to those who need it!
