Relationships

A grace-filled church is where the hurting, helpless, discouraged, divorced, depressed and the broken-hearted can find love, acceptance, support and purposeful living with its members.  It understands the need to be real and genuine, a place where we can be honest about our struggles and not have to pretend that we have arrived at a flawless Christian plateau.  We emphasize God’s love, forgiveness and grace in our behavior and attitude toward each other.

How Do We Implement It?

Potlucks, monthly family fun events, game nights, hospitality

Picture directory, prayer tree, e-mail communication system, web site

Visitation, newer members and guests for dinner or dining out

Constant communication to accomplish organizational tasks; bi-weekly family business meetings

Prayer and caring for one another, within our fellowship and among other fellowships.

Looking To the Future

We envision community outreach centers in the Spokane area. In these centers, we would do the work of meeting needs in the community between Monday and Saturday.  They would be utilized for special “needs” based classes & groups, in-depth Bible studies, fellowship activities and whatever would meet the needs of the surrounding community.  Each community area will be served by Elders who, as a part of the Spokane church of Christ, will shepherd the people of their community.  Differing needs in each community require different outreach strategies & activities.

What Do We Believe?

The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is the center of what we believe about relationships.  It is the culmination of an incredible lifetime that God gave us as a gift.  Jesus Christ is the Son of God, God Himself, who came to earth to live with us (John 1:1, 14).  Fully God and fully human, He lived a perfect life lifting up the poor and outcast, criticizing the complacent and the self-righteous, healing the sick and delivering those tormented by evil.  Jealous of His power and fearful that people might revolt, the self-righteous  Jewish establishment had Him executed on a Roman cross, not realizing that this was a part of God’s plan.  Three days after Jesus’ body was placed in a tomb, He was resurrected!  He appeared to many of His followers and commissioned them to continue His work (Matt. 28:18-20). He lives today, in a very real way, in the lives of His followers.
